Fernando is a Quechua actor, Indigenous activist, painter, and single father. He is driven by an ambitious and almost fanciful dream: to dub the Disney classic The Lion King into Quechua. Despite the setbacks and rejections his stubbornness encounters, the film traces an exhilarating journey of joyful resilience, feverish creativity, and unwavering cultural pride.

Premiering at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, Runa Simi received the award for Best New Documentary Director.
