A coming-of-age documentary that intertwines a dark story with a teenager’s hopeful journey toward his future. The film follows Ku Stevens, a 17-year-old Native American runner living on the remote Yerington Paiute Reservation in Nevada. Ku dreams of becoming a top athlete and must find some ways to compete in order to be seen by college recruiters. But the discovery of unmarked graves on the grounds of an old boarding school brings back memories of his great-grandfather, who ran away from Stewart Indian Boarding School fifty miles across the desert, at the age of eight, to get back to the reservation.
