Synopsis

The release of an historical essay about a New Zealand town’s racist past creates a stir within the community, forcing survivors to talk about their life experiences, which sometimes diverge from what’s in the book. Initially offended, both Non-Natives and Maori must face their past and the legacy of racial segregation.

A powerful documentary about Pukehoke’s dark past and the importance of remembering.
