For over six decades, between 1905 and 1972, thousands of Aboriginal children in Western Australia were forcibly removed from their families. Generation after generation, for over sixty years, the state set out to destroy Aboriginal families, culture and language, in order to ensure the dominance of white settlers. In 1997, a national inquiry described these acts as genocide. Today, the stolen generation is demanding redress.
