Conversations between Canadian brothers living half a country apart shape the foundation of a psychedelic collage of animated vignettes. Seth lives in Toronto and has always looked up to Pete, who lives in Shamattawa, a Cree reserve in Northern Manitoba. Together, they aim to make something that’s “funny, beautiful, spiritual, political, complex, simple and true”. Both Seth’s colourful illustrations and Pete’s gift for storytelling avoid straight lines while blending perfectly to create vivid pictures of charismatic family members. This offbeat, handcrafted, heartfelt cinematic achievement was nine years in the making. (HotDoc)
