This collection of Māori-made short films is an expression of Tino Rangatiratanga or self-determination. For too long, non-Māori told Māori stories, today in a contemporary context the Māori people are making their own films, telling their own stories.

Tama is the result of a unique collaboration between deaf and hearing filmmakers. Tama is about a young Māori deaf boy who wants to learn the Haka.
