Opened in 1999, the Gaaltjie (Southern Sami Cultural Center) is located in the old customs building in Östersund, where the Sami Parliament is also located.
Gaaltjie, means "cold source" Operations are conducted in different areas: language, history and culture; nutrition and social life; Arts and Crafts; knowledge transfer; marketplace; etc.
