Mana Wairoa Maori Pacifica

Programme de courts-métrages / Collection of short films
Tuesday, August 9 2016 - 12:30 pm

Synopsis

This collection of films from NZ and across the Pacific is representative of the birth of a new "Hawaiiki" - the traditional Polynesian ancestral home. In many cases these films are international collaborations, in particular between NZ and the Cook Islands, and NZ and Tahiti. Thematically, they are diverse, broaching social issues, cultural histories and the line between memory and dreaming.

With guest curators Leo Koziol, director of Wairoa Maori Film Festival, and Deborah Walker, University of Auckland, New Zealand.
