This feature gives the floor to resilient Amerindians, intent on making a place for themselves in today’s world, and refusing self-pity. Representing three generations of Quebec Aboriginals, these Amerindians are proud of their legacy and intent on finding a path to show the world they exist and want to be treated as equals, and no longer as victims fated to die out. Their stories include glimpses of the problems communities face: suicide, drugs, Native-White relations, violence… But far from fatalism, against the current, the people showcased in Sauvage deliver a powerful message of hope.
