New York City is home to some eighty thousand Native people. From the Pacific Radio Network and WBAI's New York studios located on Wall Street in lower Manhattan, the independent radio show First Voices Indigenous Radio airs weekly, focusing on the world's Indigenous peoples. The show's host, Tiokasin Ghosthorse, a member of the Cheyenne River reservation in South Dakota, revitalizes oral storytelling and brings different paradigm to diverse audiences, connecting voices from Indian Country to everyday struggles of first peoples everywhere. This is the story of a man's art and life dedicated to creating change through a Native airspace from the heart of New York City to the world.
