Leonard Sumner

Anishinaabe MC, singer, and songwriter Leonard Sumner draws his storytelling from the shores of Little Saskatchewan First Nation, in the heart of Manitoba’s Interlake region.

His self-defined musical style reflects his ability to move effortlessly across multiple genres, including hip-hop, spoken word, country, and rhythm and blues.

With every strum of his guitar, Leonard brings long-buried truths to the surface. On stage, his poetic performances awaken audiences, inviting them to reflect, connect, and see the world through a new lens.

In an era shaped by the need to confront history and heal from the wounds of the past, Leonard Sumner’s music serves as a form of medicine, balancing strength with vulnerability.
