SYNOPSIS

There are literally hundreds of Mikmaq who have gone and still go to Maine to take part in the annual Maine Blueberry harvest . Growing up on a Native reserve, like Elsipogtog (formally Big Cove) doesn’t offer many opportunities for one to leave and experience any other way of life, so when it came time to harvest blueberries, the family packed all of their belongings and headed to Maine for the entire month of August.

Brian Francis, storyteller, visual artist, filmmaker, author, activist, crab fisherman and blueberry picker, will be in attendance.
